pervasive opportunistic encryption of voice and text communication
I think RedPhone / Open Whisper Systems is a start to what we might achieve as a "base" level of privacy for "most people" in modern digital communications: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open_Whisper_Systems https://whispersystems.org/ "Open Whisper Systems is a nonprofit software group[3] that develops collaborative open source projects with a mission to "make private communication simple"." So, for those so inspired, these might be the guys to work with. (Figured a new thread on actual projects / potential new ideas (rather than just complaints) is in order.)

moxie makes compromises (by playing within the Apple/GOOG system) we should do better!
Signal (as I think its now called) wants your phone number and does SMS verification for sign up. I haven't used it so am not sure how this process works or occurs but doesn't sound very privacy enhancing to me. On 15/11/15 18:56, coderman wrote:

I think it is a question of responsibility. If you eschew responsibility, fuck it, give youself the nanny state and what you asked for. But if you have any shred of responsibility, then place that upon you. Do you want HOTP/TOTP, or do you want nanny SMS? That is the question. I believe that even Johnny is educatable to these things, and I wish to do that. Do you?
