I suspect it applies for this list too. In some sense the list is "anti social", so title should read "social and anti social media...".

Still too limited... from birth to death now, unless you life a vagabond, you're fucked.
'Social Media' was just for the sheep.
We need some PKD scramble suits.. although it's really too late, so much shit already out there. Brunner wrote about something similar in the Shockwave Rider - Haflinger is constantly changing his persona (he hacks new identities up through touch tone telephones - a very gifted phone phreak ;)

It's not every day that I see two of my very most favorite SF novels mentioned side by side. Like wow. In addition to the tools mentioned above, we need a strategy to convert them into social/political power. Telepresence gives us the virtual ability to jaunt, and we already defend our most sensitive assets from intrusion by putting them inside elaborate mazes (firewalls, onion routing, etc). Mathematical Munitions™ built to tear big holes in the networks could provide an equivalent of PyrE in a world completely dependent on the networks. So Bester's The Stars My Destination may also provide very relevant metaphors. :D
Postscript: "Prophets do not predict the future, they direct people to create specific futures." - me
