Listen, before everyone starts getting nasty. It does help to understand the meaning of currency. If I take a bunch of distinct rocks and then say they worth 1pence per gram (a made up currency unit) and then someone buys them (eventually) for $10,000 per gram (a pre-existing currency).... that's a half truch. At least some people buy bitcoins because of its good properties while other people buy just because they are greedy, brain dead gamblers. although bitcoin is a form of 'fiat currency' it has more legitimate value than the competing garbage money produced by government

What caused the most recent boom in bitcoin? Latest countermove against "nazis" was to freeze their accounts and halt transfers to "nazis".
