Coderman made redundant again
DeepMind says its new AI coding engine is as good as an average human programmer The Verge 5 hours ago Competitive programming with AlphaCode DeepMind 5 hours ago
They link to information on their public datasets at https://github.com/deepmind/code_contests . It doesn't appear that the model[s] is/are public yet, so it's not quite that newsworthy yet. People are quite aware there is private code generation e.g. at openai.com . There's a 5 month old open source python code generation model called genji, too: https://twitter.com/kurumuz/status/1423754660607840260 https://huggingface.co/NovelAI/genji-python-6B 5 months is a long time in these times, and there is likely something newer. But soon that newer thing may be alphacode.
For a little thoroughness here's a link to https://github.com/openai/human-eval which is just code for some old 2021 openai paper, and a quote from its readme:
This program exists to run untrusted model-generated code. Users are strongly encouraged not to do so outside of a robust security sandbox. The execution call in execution.py is deliberately commented out to ensure users read this disclaimer before running code in a potentially unsafe manner. See the comment in execution.py for more information and instructions.

hey, i'm in operations now! someone has to deploy, maintain, and scale all the AI codermen :P~ i would like to announce my success automating the executive function, however this would negate a competitve advantage it enjoys in the decentralized cyber nations currently budding... *cough* ... in all seriousness, most coding is not innovative, novel, nor ground breaking. that's fine! and leaves the fun code to us earth humans :) best regards, -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- iNUEAREKAH0WIQRBwSuMMH1+IZiqV4FlqEfnwrk4DAUCYfsfw18UgAAAAAAuAChp c3N1ZXItZnByQG5vdGF0aW9ucy5vcGVucGdwLmZpZnRoaG9yc2VtYW4ubmV0NDFD MTJCOEMzMDdEN0UyMTk4QUE1NzgxNjVBODQ3RTdDMkI5MzgwQwAKCRBlqEfnwrk4 DAmVAQCvTpg4kw6e1W/oc8xM95SnQUHbPh55iHPvk6bUEYagCwD/dDmWFzv0ig8H gEX+Dkf5HhSDtKNPgSEnh5ZKLm/O7Vw= =pQoJ -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
