Besides "no", "mine" is also a powerful word for a 2 year old: make a game to build their sense of ownership of their own body, as well as of their own choices - for suitable and age-appropriate "choices" granted to them by you their parent or guardian in a safe environment, whilst at the same time they discover/ learn to comprehend the boundaries and authority of others. Boundaries and the authority ("strength") of the parent or guardian are essential in order for the young to feel secure in this world, and this sense of security/ safety is a pre-requisite to self confidence.
