Curious use of cpunks list [Brian Carroll]
Please consider writing a whitepaper on the subject of whatever it is you're trying to say and then posting a link to it here with a one paragraph summary for readers. And if you are, or rather than, using this list (as previously surmised by others) as the rough equivalent of your own numbers station, there are surely better places to broadcast this material... nntp, a hidden service webpage, an actual numbers list (which you could ask the cpunks maintainer to set up). Curiosities are presumably welcome here, but really, this? The archives do not indicate much of an audience. Perhaps I've missed something? So I defer to any simple on topic summary and/or explanation which might move others to go back and digest it all for its suggested value and comment therein.
Personally I've found these posts to be very curious, and while I have no idea what to make of most of them, they can be interesting to read and I've enjoyed having them on the list. Even if they aren't explicity on topic. On Wed, Oct 16, 2013 at 1:15 AM, grarpamp <grarpamp@gmail.com> wrote:

Even if they aren't explicity on topic. I thought these clever dystopian, rambling, possibly schizophrenic posts *were* the topic of cyperpunks? It certainly doesn't seem to be much else. -- Al Billings http://makehacklearn.org

The author is almost certainly schizophrenic, but he's not disruptive, and occasionally amusing. I don't see any reasons for action.

It does beat the spam (which might just be stego, but still). +1 to dadaist cpunkery. -- ~j
Is there an open algorithm that keeps a summarization of what normally gets posted here? Pointing out the topics, references, commonly used terms? On Oct 16, 2013 2:53 PM, "Joseph Holsten" <joseph@josephholsten.com> wrote:

Check out the OpenThreads project[1][2]. In addition to being just generally awesome, it's also a starting point if you want to parse out the topics in an entire mailing list. It was written by a colleague who's very interested in gender diversity in tech, so the project is mostly known for researching what pronouns are used most often on LibTech, and also for posting a list of the most common names mentioned (the top ten are all dudes). Caution: some assembly required. happy hacking ;) Griffin [1] https://github.com/elationfoundation/openThreads/wiki/A-journey-in-Regular-Expressions-and-ListServ's <https://github.com/elationfoundation/openThreads/wiki/A-journey-in-Regular-Expressions-and-ListServ%27s> [2] https://github.com/elationfoundation/openThreads Jayvan Santos wrote:

Feels like old times... :-) //Alif -- Those who make peaceful change impossible, make violent revolution inevitable. An American Spring is coming: one way or another.
