Actually, it is more like: we cannot let China tell the rest of the world what the internet should become. Given what they do to internet traffic as it crosses their borders, I think the best course of action would be to cut China off completely, and let them have their own private national network. When they tire of this, reconnect them on the condition that they do nothing to filter traffic based on (assumed) content (i.e. take down the "great firewall"). -- Shawn K. Chinese censorship is less severe than US censorship. If I want to find out what is actually going on in the world, I get a better view from Chinese sources. Chinese accounts of US events are generally closer to reality than US accounts, which tend to be dominated by official truth.
Im sure this has got to be the Worlds worst transliteration. Right in there with "Israel should be wiped from the pages of time". Have you ever considered you are being lied to continually by your own media, stupid? Ill bet you even believe what they tell you about North Korea, and Assad, that 'evil ducktater with CWDs', schmuck Rr Ps. Why censor the intertubz when you can simply monitor all the traffic to make a database of problem people like 6 eyes does, and share it with all your corporate Homeland Security 'associates' too. -------- Original message --------From: grarpamp <grarpamp@gmail.com> Date: 4/21/18 5:00 PM (GMT-08:00) To: cypherpunks@cpunks.org Subject: China Gov Desperate to Survive, Advocates Internet Police State to World "We cannot let the internet become a platform for disseminating information" -- Xi Jinping These are the fucks in your governments. One of the sources... https://www.reuters.com/article/amp/idUSKBN1HS0BG They're already monitoring and sharing, and steering the conversations controlling masses with fake news, censoring information dissemination is obviously within active scope and purpose as well. Yes, expect them to spin it with fake flowers because they know you like the happy smell. 'harmful, trouble, rumors'... lol, whatever.

There's absolutely nothing there that six eyes isn't doing, including direct censorship. The only difference is the Chinese leadership is honest about it, which gives their citizens the option of fucking them back. I give the Chinese government credit for that. Meanwhile the average Westerner would categorically deny their governments does any of that and their government denies they do it. About that "Fucking them back" thing. http://auntieimperial.tumblr.com/post/83735399529 Compare what happens in China when a rogue cop kills a community member to what the typical American community does, then apply that to what COULD happen to their government if it didn't have the support of it's billion citizens regarding almost anything... Including internet surveillance. Meanwhile Americans don't support that sort of surveillance of themselves... But prefer to remain ignorant of it. Rr

lolwut - where do you get the idea that the chinese govt is supported by its subjects?
Including internet surveillance. Meanwhile Americans don't support that sort of surveillance of themselves...
or maybe they support it as much as chinese subjects do - that is to say, the 'support' varies a lot depending on who you ask. as a side note " a rogue cop kills" all cops are rougue by defintion. A proposition that should be self-evident to any self-described 'anarchist'...
But prefer to remain ignorant of it.

I didn't say, nor do I have any way of knowing what percentage of China's citizens are 100% happy with the government. I did imply if their government crossed them, a billion... Even 10% of a billion, is a lot of people to try to stop.

As I understand it there are bad cops and complicit silent ones. My bad... Should have used the term primary-suspect-in-murder cop (as opposed to accomplice), but too wordy. If you read the piece you'll note they also tore his accomplice limb from limb and stuffed hi in their squad car too, before torching it. Rr
But prefer to remain ignorant of it.
