Sneaky "reverse targeting"
Within the last day, I've seen references to "reverse targeting". Apparently it is illegal to use FISA warrants to surveill an American citizen, but there is an (also illegal) practice called "reverse targeting". Surveill foreigners that are known to be associating/communicating with the desired actual American target, and read the resulting NSA 'take'. This may be what's going on with Trump. This is commentary from 2008: http://irregulartimes.com/2008/06/24/reverse-targeting-yes-he-can/ × Jim Bell

I don;t know that I'd really call it 'reverse targeting', more like a 'circumnavigation of federal law' ... nevertheless I blogged Executive Order 12333 - 1.13 in 2014. http://auntieimperial.tumblr.com/post/72893522022 The FBI's Data Technology Intercept Unit <http://foreignpolicy.com/2013/11/21/meet-the-spies-doing-the-nsas-dirty-work/> ... You know, the ones who hire ex-furniture salesmen <http://www.salon.com/2014/07/13/fbi_cyber_expert_is_ex_discount_furniture_salesman/>, enable that collaboration. Rr
This was the practice behind telephone wiretaps SC justice Brandeis strongly object to. Warrant Canary creator On Mar 24, 2017 11:44 AM, "Razer" <g2s@riseup.net> wrote:

whatever the government does is legal, by defintion.
