there is sadly a situation in america where people who can clearly explain being victims are the only people who are generally helped. sometimes if a third party can clearly explain somebody is a victim, and then consent to being helped, then they are helped.
sadly this leaves out almost everybody from aid. but it does keep the set of people aided to a workable number and focuses on people capable of adding clear useful information, which is helpful.
i do not work in these things, these are just my observations.
i guess we can derive that the prison system is used by slave boss as a way to protect himself from something very scary by restraining people who might get in his way and sending blame away from himself by supporting it
it's confusing. there are of course many places that support focused punishment; i'm in the minority having been exposed to this being undesired as a larger thing, although many people question punishment in general when not taught otherwise. [one of the challenges seems to be laws; no longer having a norm of productive debate we set laws that leave people out
it's sad because christianity is a huge punishment-oriented religion that has actually helped people in very great need (most successful antitrafficking groups appear to be christian); with all these valid people expressing meaning of assassination of jesus, it's not likely to be right to not have punishment as an approach; we need it to understand it being used in the past (have not read bible myself so hard to say much here)
in the fictional situation, torture victim double agent is able to clearly _demonstrate_ that he needs help, by the nature of his coping strategy, in an obscure and occasional way. this is slowly bringing him help.
slave boss: "you gotta understand. so many people ... like me ... have been killed by people like ... him."
camera present
third party: "would you save my life if i were in danger?"
slave boss: "fuck no!" slave boss puts hand over mouth
torture victim double agent: "slave boss has saved my life over and over and ov--
torture victim double agent: "the situation here is not complicated, everybody's just scared of it going in some poor way."
torture victim double agent: "slave boss is scared because he lives in fear. i'm scared because i live in fear. you guys are confused and are going to make a poor decision because we all speak nonverbal languages and only use english to manipulate people."
torture victim double agent: "slave boss is very dangerous and should be restrained without being harmed. he and both need recovery. i don't fully understand the recovery he needs."
torture victim double agent: "_but_ the whole world is corrupt and everybody is acting on that, spreading horrible things that slave thinks protect him to take advantage of, actually worsening his situation more and more producing more confusions like me."
torture victim double agent: "so the camera is helpful because i forget everything i'm saying the moment after i say it unless i think there's some record"
torture victim double agent: "and slave boss is the same way, he just has good habits for rapin' people successfully that he learned from his dad"
