I have come to view the State as a machine that converts money
into power, and power back into money, in an accelerating feedback
cycle.  This would make 'national security' a mechanism for
defending that machine's operation, and of course, accelerating
the process of delivering money/power into the hands of those who
already have the most of both.

Verily.  The feedback cycle described above, and the industrial
markets that parasitically co-exist with it, must both grow
exponentially to survive.  Since this exponential growth is
happening inside a closed container, failure is inherent in their
