> today's xkcd regards a recent public forced deportation of a grad > student in randall's home city . [the story kind of reads like snowden > or something except the subject appears as a random grad student
some influences judge this likely to be a kidnapping, [possibly funded by a foreign government somehow ??], because there is so much work to hide the people involved and deter due process
it's also notable there has apparently been edit conflict on wikipedia regarding whether or not it should be mentioned anywhere that the people apprehending the student were all masked
i don't know anything about it i assume these things are worked on by people less messed up than me
we see strange edit conflicts like that a lot so things like this can help us understand them a little bit more
i'm hearing that this behavior regards the requests of oppressive foreign powers on all of our citizens to silently respect their censorships
some say this may be off base. but the requests for silent respect of censorship seems not yet contested; i think all citizens might have been slightly contested
edit conflicts are common on wikipedia, i'm afraid we're not used to assuming that persistence implies validity but the impact of the persistence -- when it shows power that used to be classified as state-level -- that's meaningful. as citizens of the world we need to figure out how to handle that to protect each other and our information appropriately.
the legos and tinkertoys of the world cower in fear
we hope if we build the right toy that our safety can increase by a smidge
