Dear John, I don't think the timings quite right - perhaps 2018 I'd say. Also, it would be (just at this point in time) merely a reaction to ARM and Charles Mollison - NOT the right approach (that's what we expect from the government). We can do better, and besides, in this day and age, we can communicate readily and speedily online compared to 100 years ago, that's pretty awesome :) Regards, Zenaan On Tue, May 02, 2017 at 02:01:12PM +1000, John Wilson wrote:
Dear Zenaan,
It's time we had a CONSTITUTIONAL CONVENTION - like what they done in the 1890s. How about holding it at the Australian National University campus in Canberra? A 3-day weekend ought to do it....Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Give everybody sufficient notice... say, 6 months.....November is enough time to save up for the trip from anywhere in our vast brown land. Anyone who wants to peddle his concepts can have a stall. A timetable of presentations can be put together......with Q&As, of course.......using the lecture theatres. We can have political parties there, too, along with special-interest groups, etc. We need not actually produce a definitive document, at the end of the 3 days.........we just need to have a checklist of the essential elements to go into one.
How about it?
Yours sincerely, John Wilson. Ph: 0401 413 650
