in the garden, a pansy can be seen growing
pansy [in garden]: "oh! i have such a big heart! things just matter so much! i can't bear to see anyone come to harm!"
torturer looks at the pansy aghast
slave boss: "see? they care one way, we care another. everybody cares!"
slave boss waters the pansy
torturer goes in the garden and plants himself to get watered
torturer: "pansy, tell me about growing"
slave boss waters the torturer, a little confused.
torturer [recieving water]: "i am but a pansy, deep down inside! it just rips me to shreds to consider it!"
torturer gestures expressively, but because he is temporarily a plant, the gestures break his greenery and parts of him fall to the ground, broken from the unhandleable pain of realizing his pansy heart
torturer: "there on the ground lies my pansy heart. too distant, too fractured from flashbacks and violence ..."
real pansy: "oh, you poor torturer! i care so much about you!"
the pansy drops seeds and old flower parts by torturer's soil to help fertilize him. the pansy lets the wind blow droplets of water from them onto torturer
pansy: "please, take some of me to be nourished and healed!"
pansy: "we all give everything we have for those in need! the sky provides unending bounty to heal the most deep of any scars!"
slave boss waters the pansy and torturer to help them heal
and lo, though torturer be shattered and murder'd from unending reality-fracturing pain his roots doth soak the water up and the water doth carry fertile kelated ions to nourish him
and new greenery in torturer did grow
torturer looked around
the wounds from realizing his pansy heart had sprouted new buds, swelling with nourishment
he was alive.
he didn't know he could survive being a pansy. he thought he would die.
torturer: "this was exactly what i needed! thank you!"
