makes me wonder what i am missing out that's happened since nixos happened
right now nixos is clearly geared toward developers. the world is hoping they get closer to making things actually reliable
so that's one of the barriers for me too. one of the first steps for using nixos is learning it's os-specific programming language, which all things are done in-- [long ago most computers had something like that, very long ago
and that barrier is likely slowing down the evolution of the design of the system. but it makes a good statement, it's a purely functional langauge [it sets a low-bar for the working memory size of users and contributers ..--
