As Dr. Fauci and other top public health officials in the US (along with their Big Pharma allies) continue to push for mandatory vaccinations for increasingly younger patients which could soon extend to babies as young as 6 months), health authorities in Sweden - which saw fewer excess deaths than its neighbors despite avoiding lockdowns during the initial wave of the COVID pandemic - have decided to stop giving the Moderna jab to anyone born in 1991 or later. The Swedes were joined a few hours later by health authorities in Denmark, who suspended use of Moderna's jab in patients aged 18 and younger. For context, the Modern jabs were found to be more likely to cause dangerous inflammation in the heart by at least one study - to patients born in 1991 (meaning anyone 30 and younger). “The Swedish Public Health Agency has decided to suspend the use of Moderna’s vaccine Spikevax, for everyone born 1991 and later, for precautionary reasons," it said in a statement. "The cause is signals of an increased risk of side effects such as myocarditis and pericarditis. However, the risk of being affected is very small." But the Swedes aren't limiting use of all the mRNA jabs. Instead of the Moderna vaccine, the Swedish health agency says it's going to recommend the Pfizer jab for people in this age range instead, as those in the age range who have already received one Moderna jab will not be receiving a second (it's not clear whether they will be receiving a dose of Pfizer instead). The EMA, the EU's medicines regulator, first approved the Pfizer jab for young people back in May, while the Moderna jab was approved for children over 12 in July. The news sent Moderna shares even lower in premarket trade. Generally speaking, the EMA, along with local European health authorities, have been far more cautious about approving vaccines than their American counterparts, and have also imposed more restrictions related to age. The news will likely prompt other Scandinavian health authorities to review their stance on Moderna and other jabs. After the announcements, shares of Moderna turned even lower premarket. US Investigates Moderna Jab After Data Show 2.5x Higher Risk Of Heart Inflammation The Internet's social-media censors have been extremely vigilant at suppressing every tidbit of COVID vaccine "misinformation" that comes their way. So, as readers might imagine, drawing attention to publicly released data about the rare (but sometimes deadly) side effects associated with both mRNA and adenovirus-vector jabs has been...a challenge. Hey @jack what happens to all those who were banned for warning about this?https://t.co/E9mFoFLqGS — zerohedge (@zerohedge) August 20, 2021 But let's back up: over the past couple of months, health authorities in the US and Israel connected rare instances of myocarditis - that is, inflammation of the heart - to the mRNA jabs produced by Pfizer and Moderna. After a hurried secret meeting with its advisors in late June, the FDA reluctantly released a warning about a "likely association" between incidences of myocarditis and the new side effects. And now, a new twist: On Thursday evening, the Washington Post published a report claiming that the Moderna coronavirus vaccine may be associated with a higher risk of myocarditis in younger adults than previously believed. The report relies on new data from a Canadian study that has yet to be released. How much more dangerous is the Moderna jab than the Pfizer? Well, the preliminary data leaked to WaPo show the risk of myocarditis might be as much as 2.5x higher for the Moderna jab. The news represents the latest bump in the road for Moderna's high-flying stock, as patients (especially younger men in their 20s and 30s deemed at highest risk to suffer the side effect) now have an incentive to prefer Pfizer's jab over Moderna's (if they still have any confidence in the mRNA jabs at all, that is). WaPo's sources stressed that the new research hasn't yet been concluded, and that there's still plenty of work to be done before the FDA decides whether to attach another warning label to the Moderna jabs. The sources also claimed that the new data "are not slam bang". The investigation, which involves the Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, is focusing on Canadian data that suggests the Moderna vaccine may carry a higher risk for young people than the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, especially for males below the age of 30 or so. The authorities also are scrutinizing data from the United States to try to determine whether there is evidence of an increased risk from Moderna in the U.S. population. The two people who described the investigation spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss an ongoing review because they were not authorized to discuss it. One of the people familiar with the review emphasized it is too early to reach a conclusion. The person said the agencies must do additional work before deciding whether to issue any kind of new or revised warning or recommendation about the situation. In June, the FDA added a warning label for the Pfizer and Moderna shots — both known as mRNA vaccines — about increased risk of myocarditis. “We have not come to a conclusion on this,” one of the people familiar with the investigation said. “The data are not slam bang.” The FDA and CDC both said they're looking into the data. To be sure, WaPo notes that the side effects remain "extremely rare" - or at least "very uncommon." Probably... The myocarditis side effect is extremely rare and even if it is more likely in people receiving the Moderna vaccine, it probably is still very uncommon. Officials want to be careful not to cause alarm among the public, especially when officials are trying to persuade more people to be vaccinated amid a surge of cases fueled by the fast-moving delta variant. So far, the FDA and CDC's official position is that the threat posed by COVID is far worse than any threat posed by vaccine side effects, and that all Americans over the age of 12 should get the jab. But as with any recent scientific judgment, there are others in the community who disagree - some who believe that the risk of side effects for young people might just outweigh the risk of harm from contracting COVID, which - as we have reviewed before - is virtually nil. “There might be a 2.5 times higher incidence of myocarditis in those who get the Moderna vaccine compared with Pfizer's vaccine.” Any risk at all for young people under 17 is unacceptable https://t.co/vz1REfaaj8 — Sue Cook (@SueC00K) August 20, 2021 Israel Spots Probable Link Between Pfizer Vaccine, Myocarditis According to Reuters, Israel's Health Ministry released a statement Tuesday describing how Pfizer Inc. and BioNTech SE's COVID-19 vaccine could be linked to dozens of heart inflammation cases, mainly observed in younger men. So far, the vaccine has been administered to 5 million people in the country and could soon be expanded to teens as young as 12-15 years old. The ministry's findings found 275 cases of myocarditis between December 2020 and May 2021, including 148 cases within a month after the first vaccination. Of these, 27 cases after the first dose and 121 after the second. Half of the people had previous medical conditions. According to the findings, most patients who experienced heart inflammation spent less than four days in the hospital, and 95% of the cases were classified as mild. The study found "there is a probable link between receiving the second dose (of Pfizer) vaccine and the appearance of myocarditis among men aged 16 to 30." Pfizer said in a statement that it had reviewed the Israeli observations of myocarditis, noting that no link to its vaccine has been confirmed. "A careful assessment of the reports is ongoing and it has not been concluded," Pfizer said. "Adverse events, including myocarditis and pericarditis, are being regularly and thoroughly reviewed by the companies as well as by regulatory authorities." Meanwhile, Nachman Ash, Israel's pandemic-response coordinator, told local radio station Radio 103 FM, "the health committee gave the green light for vaccinating 12- to 15-year-olds, and this will be possible as of next week." An advisory group with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended last month further examination into the possible link between myocarditis and mRNA vaccines. The handful of myocarditis cases seem to outweigh the positives as more than 55% of Israel's population has already been vaccinated. While the country continues a vaccination spree, what's not being widely spoken about is a new study that suggests natural immunity to the virus could last a lifetime. New Study Links "Acute Chest Pain" In Male Soldiers To mRNA Vaccines More research has been published highlighting more problematic side effects linked to COVID-19 shots. Last week, we published our latest update on rare cases of heart inflammation that have been linked to the mRNA COVID jabs, including the jabs from Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna. After a hurried secret meeting with its advisory board on vaccine safety, the FDA reluctantly release a warning asking patients experiencing these symptoms to seek help immediately. The latest study, published in JAMA's Cardiology Journal on Tuesday, showed that 23 male soldiers (including 22 who were deemed "previously health") between the ages of 20 and 51 presented "acute onset of marked chest pain" within four days of receiving their second dose. Patients who sought care for chest pain in the military health-care system following COVID-19 vaccination and were subsequently diagnosed with clinical myocarditis were included in the case study. All the members who tested for myocarditis (for those who aren't familiar with it, myocarditis is a condition that causes the swelling of the heart muscle and can cause difficulty breathing, heart failure, and death) were all "physically fit by military standards and lacking any known history of cardiac disease, significant cardiac risk factors, or exposure to cardiotoxic agents." All of the patients whose data was included in the study underwent electrocardiography and echocardiography tests. Abnormal electrocardiography findings were recorded in 19 patients (83%): findings included ST-segment elevations, T-wave inversions, and nonspecific ST changes. Echocardiography in 4 patients (17%) demonstrated reduced left ventricular ejection fractions (40% to 50%). The cardiac symptoms faded within a week of onset for 16 patients, while 7 others continued to have chest discomfort at the time of this report; follow-up is ongoing. As one table from the study showed, the number of cases of heart inflammation reported in the military is much higher than the rate that one might expect given population-wide incidence of these symptoms. This suggests some new variable is likely causing the surge in cases. The study's authors concluded that while the overall risk for patients who received an mRNA vaccine remains extremely small, the US isn't alone in discovering these cases. Israel, which also relied on mostly on mRNA vaccines to inoculate its population, is also seeing surprisingly high incidence of heart inflammation that's likely linked to the vaccines. FDA Adds Warning About Heart Inflammation To COVID-19 mRNA Vaccines The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) added a warning about the risk of developing heart inflammation to information about the Moderna and Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines. A young woman receives a COVID-19 vaccine The FDA announced earlier this month that it would add the warning after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) had reported that more cases of heart inflammation—either myocarditis or pericarditis—were found in young adults and children after they received the vaccines, which use mRNA technology. On June 25, the agency said that it would add revisions to its patient and provider fact sheets about the “increased risks of myocarditis (inflammation of the heart muscle) and pericarditis (inflammation of the tissue surrounding the heart) following vaccination” using the Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 shots. The Pfizer or Moderna vaccines use mRNA technology and require two doses, whereas the vaccine made by Johnson & Johnson uses an adenovirus and requires a single dose. FDA Revises Vaccine Fact Sheets to Add Warning on Heart Risks Dear twitter time to ban the FDA — zerohedge (@zerohedge) June 26, 2021 Still, health officials have said that the risks of developing heart inflammation are outweighed by the vaccine’s benefits. “The risk of myocarditis and pericarditis appears to be very low given the number of vaccine doses that have been administered,” Janet Woodcock, the acting FDA commissioner, said in a statement last week. “The benefits of COVID-19 vaccination continue to outweigh the risks, given the risk of COVID-19 diseases and related, potentially severe, complications.” The warning issued by the FDA says that there may be increased risks “particularly following the second dose and with [the] onset of symptoms within a few days after vaccination.” “Additionally, the Fact Sheets for Recipients and Caregivers for these vaccines note that vaccine recipients should seek medical attention right away if they have chest pain, shortness of breath, or feelings of having a fast-beating, fluttering, or pounding heart after vaccination,” the agency said. “The FDA and CDC are monitoring the reports, collecting more information, and will follow-up to assess longer-term outcomes over several months.” COVID-19 is the disease caused by the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus. There have been more than 1,200 cases of pericarditis or myocarditis in individuals who are aged 30 or younger who have received the vaccine doses, according to the latest CDC findings last week. The case rate, based on submissions to the FDA- and CDC-operated Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System, is higher than expected in young males. For males between the ages of 12 and 17, the expected number of cases of heart inflammation following dose one using a 21-day window were two to 21. The observed number of cases was 32 through June 11. For males between the age of 18 and 24, the expected number of cases using the same parameters were three to 34. The observed number of cases was 47. Representatives for Pfizer and Moderna didn’t respond to requests for comment by press time.
