however recently i was thinking, "hey it's not 'imaginary' numbers that are weird -- it's _negative_ numbers! negation is an arbitrary property placed on a number, stating roughly that when used in addition or as the second operand of subtraction the function of the operation is reversed. you could do the same with any other set of operator uses -- for example, you could have _invertive_ operators, where like megative 3 is 0-3, invertive 3 is 1/3 --
a common concern this makes more lookable would be invertive 0. since 1 == invertive 1, 0 is kind of a different thing. like people decided imaginary numbers could be the square roots of negative numbers, we could use invertive zero as a special number to represent quotients with zero. for example 3 invertive zero is x such that 0x = 3
