-------- fun factoid! i believe the first major public appearance of useful tempest security was when van eck phreaking was demonstrated to convince a government not to use digital voting machines. van eck phreaking is the ability to make a copy image of somebody's display from a distance, via a radio that reads its emissions. this works for most displays. maybe i can work on it a little! i don't have any sdrs around atm. maybe it would be helpful to store some test data. when you do van eck phreaking, basically you're interested in signals that are at the pixel clock of your display, and multiples of that number at the higher harmonics.
