I think of Snowden as victim of circumstances controlled by others, and very possibly an unwitting agent selected from a pool of candidates provided by the Insider Threat Program. Am I the only one who has noticed that every real-world consequence of The Snowden Affair has benefited his former employers?
Well, I certainly noticed that after Snowden's 'disclosures' the pentagon and friends got even more aggressive and the global american cyber police state more entrenched.
I don't know if Snowden was just a pawn in that game though. I guess it's possible.
Just because you're intelligent doesn't mean you can't be a 'useful idiot'.
By his own account, Snowden was a malcontent who was told by his office mates to shut up and ignore illegal activities. Whether he came to the attention of the Insider Threat Program or other CI programs is a question of how "good" they are at doing their jobs. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.22 (GNU/Linux) iQEcBAEBAgAGBQJZFUJaAAoJEECU6c5XzmuqGSoH/2Nj5YW42L3Cd80HmXPHaK5f Ty32HWC+fxc2M9heWZgLZGKvDPk04wOz7kCvpOfkW3NbeLycGNhItP3hyoizS+rF lv4m9U3QYTKzwT7GSldM2BzblQ69tcvrooSRwHiGjLdePBXFcloSu5sGRxoY67LL hF908SrTXSQbdbKAc/QksEebpQwKZsuKPY5DHVMWqWpUpldjYohRtfkjSJMLhwjQ pSsq/0+sPB/gYKS0yQLNF6uhwts4Hz+FM1pY0pva/jf0rAkYnlYxAVLrlIBA+ST1 7hSA1bmh4GjGsHXFwDNGKMuEGJAvH/uRpH5nT2CXqX6K6bmcnq3v4ZqoQAagz00= =fe+F -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
