Louder the brag weaker the braggart.

Vox: "A mysterious radiation cloud spread over Europe in September. Russia finally acknowledged it.

But officials won’t say where it came from."

Perhaps a test fire of nuclear-powered missile they recently declassified in Putin's speech.

Daniel Ellsberg released a book recently called “The Doomsday Machine”, about
his time working at RAND as a nuclear researcher and how fucking godawful
and insane the entire nuclear military complex is. A lot of stuff he wanted to
leak just after the pentagon papers that had to do with US nuclear planning, but
he ended up losing the paperwork and apparently had trouble getting this
book written and published. Among other things he at one point says he came out of
seeing “Dr. Strangelove” just after it came out and, hilariously, remarked “that was a
documentary” (which it basically is).

Anyway it’s an interesting book, I’m only about halfway through it. The fucking
insanity of nuclear weapons and the nation states that employ them is painted
very starkly.

A review of the book -
