The deputy head of the U.S. Department of Justice's Antitrust Division offered a full-throated defense Thursday of the Biden administration's aggressive competition enforcement record, arguing, with a Republican takeover imminent, that a hard-line stance against accepting most transaction remedies has prompted real change by merging companies seeking to avoid a merger challenge.
