Possibly this could be threat. I think it is rather harsh to call such passengers "morons". Passengers are just users of the service. They need not know that LION batteries are essentially harmless while ELEPHANT batteries can do damage. Such technical details are responsibility of ground control and the plane crew IMHO. Is it illegal yet to call your hotspot whatever you like? (In cases like this it is clearly dumb to do so).
