Doing my duty and sharing that an e-mail I sent to zenaan likely influenced trump's tweeting. On october 14th, I sent some liberal christian propaganda to zenaan; it seemed to make sense since he was sharing conservative christian propaganda, so the share split the two kinds of propaganda two different ways. On october 17th, the same group reported trump had started spreading public messaging against them. This is after years of them sharing these things without any issue. I've sent other e-mails to zenaan and he replies in a friendly manner. He does not seem to share them with this list anymore. Once we had a somewhat lengthy conversation where I thought it was in public but it was actually in private and I hadn't noticed. ====------ Later Forwarded message (I trimmed this one down to just a bible quote before forwarding it) ------==== From: Karl <gmkarl@gmail.com> Date: Sat, 17 Oct 2020 16:41:56 -0400 Subject: Fwd: The Trump campaign just called Faithful America a "fake Christian group" To: "Zig the N.g" <ziggerjoe@yandex.com> closing the feedback loop i started. not christian nor an organizer or activist anymore myself. this one has tracking pixel removed; it's unlikely anybody looked at the last one ---------- Forwarded message --------- *"You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor." - Exodus 20:16* ====------ Earlier Forwarded message ------==== From: Karl <gmkarl@gmail.com> Date: Wed, 14 Oct 2020 09:12:27 -0400 Subject: Fwd: Add your name: No more forced hysterectomies To: Zenaan Harkness <zen@freedbms.net> This classified message appears to contain a tracking pixel. ---------- Forwarded message --------- From: Faithful America <mail@faithfulamerica.org> Date: Wed, Sep 23, 2020 at 3:31 PM Subject: Add your name: No more forced hysterectomies To: Karl Semich <gmkarl@gmail.com> ICE has been forcing women in detention to receive hysterectomies against their will. The horrifying news comes from whistleblower Dawn Wooten, a former nurse at ICE's Irwin County Detention Center in Georgia. *[Content trigger warning: Sexual abuse, sterilization, deportation]* Dear Faithful America member, In a year full of grave racial injustices, this is some of the worst. U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement has been *forcing women in ICE detention to receive hysterectomies against their will.* The horrifying news comes from heroic whistleblower Nurse Dawn Wooten, who worked at ICE's Irwin County Detention Center in Georgia. Let that sink in: The days of the Tuskegee experiment, when our government intentionally let Black Americans suffer from syphilis, are not over. *Violent, state-sanctioned medical abuse against women of color is still rampant in the United States.* When Jesus' mother Mary sang of bringing down the powerful from their thrones, it was surely with abusive governments like this in mind. A fundamentally racist system must be changed, and the corrupt authorities who have enabled it -- including Donald Trump and his allies -- must be swept from power. The first step is to put our faith into action by *supporting the calls of local organizers to permanently shut down Irwin.* *Tell Congress: Shut Down ICE's Irwin Detention Center >>* <https://act.faithfulamerica.org/sign/shut-down-irwin/?t=2&akid=4084%2E497346%2Euj4cl_> This is forced sterilization – and it fits the broader pattern of racist abuse that has characterized the U.S. immigration system for decades. Immigration officials have been repeatedly accused of rape inside detention cells, filming women as they showered, shackling pregnant women, ignoring miscarriages, and threatening victims with deportation if they speak out. *The problems have only grown worse in recent years, emboldened by Donald Trump's hatred.* It is not surprising to learn of such atrocities from an administration also guilty of separating families, rejecting refugees, teargassing those who protest for racial justice, banning Muslims, desecrating sacred Native lands, and supporting white supremacists. Yet some have been brave enough to speak out. In Georgia, organizers and attorneys have been taking complaints of medical neglect for a long time. In Texas in late February, Cameroonian women at an ICE facility staged a sit-in to protest their lack of medical care. What's different this time is the courage shown by whistleblower Dawn Wooten. Nurse Dawn is a Black woman, and Black women have often been the bedrock of social change. She will likely be the subject of racist attacks herself, which makes it all the more important that we believe her, support her, amplify her complaint, and *condemn racism whenever and wherever we see it.* *Tell Congress: Shut Down ICE's Irwin Detention Center >>* <https://act.faithfulamerica.org/sign/shut-down-irwin/?t=3&akid=4084%2E497346%2Euj4cl_> Thank you for everything you do to love your neighbor, welcome immigrants, and oppose both racism and sexism. After you sign this petition, we'll send you several next steps you can take in the fight against injustice. In peace, Rev. Nathan and the Faithful America team P.S. Friday night brought additional devastating news: The death of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The grief and mourning that so many of us feel right now is real, as is the fear for what might come next. We will have actions to take as soon as the president announces his nominee for the vacancy, and we will continue our campaign to unseat the president and thus secure the future of the Court for a more just America. May her memory be a blessing -- and a revolution. In the meantime, we remember Justice Ginsburg with this tribute from her close friend, NPR's Nina Totenberg: "A Jewish teaching says those who die just before the Jewish new year are the ones God has held back until the last moment because they were needed most & were the most righteous. And so it was that #RBG died as the sun was setting last night marking the beginning of Rosh Hashanah." *Baruch Dayan HaEmet* -- blessed is the True Judge. *"The immigrant who resides with you shall be to you as the citizen among you; you shall love the immigrant as yourself, for you were immigrants in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God." - Leviticus 19:34* ------------------------------ Faithful America is the largest online community of grassroots Christians putting faith into action for social justice.
