Thank you for writing to me via e-mail. If you have included your full name and address, and if you are in my Congressional District, you should receive a response via U.S. mail. I respond via U.S. mail both because I want to preserve the personal touch of a letter, and because of the ease with which e-mails can be altered after-the-fact. A hard copy, on official letterhead, and with my signature, ensures the permanent integrity of my response to you. Also, because my office receives e-mails from around the nation, I must limit my responses to my home district. This ensures the resources of my office are devoted to my constituents. Thank you very much for taking the time to contact me.
