use netcom (or something similiar) that gives you dynamic ip addresses. as a bonus, netcom doesn't require an actual name or address. (yes, they require a CC#). this allows fairly anonymous access. (prehaps one reason the neeed for web proxies isn't that high)
I wouldn't give Netcom my CC# if my life depended on it. They have a really lousy record of people breaking in, stealing their lists of CC numbers, then Netcom trying to sweep it under the rug and not telling their users that their CC# was compromised. Besides, their service really sucks, and their technical "support" doesn't exist. -- Ed Carp, N7EKG Ed.Carp@linux.org, ecarp@netcom.com 214/993-3935 voicemail/digital pager 800/558-3408 SkyPager Finger ecarp@netcom.com for PGP 2.5 public key an88744@anon.penet.fi "Past the wounds of childhood, past the fallen dreams and the broken families, through the hurt and the loss and the agony only the night ever hears, is a waiting soul.
