The number trotted out on your show of 100,000 penetrations, or attempted penetrations, of Pentagon computers as an indication of poor security is misleading. If you had taken the time to dig behind these numbers you would have found that most all of these intrusions, or attempts, were against DoD computer systems connected to public networks (e.g., Web sites) containing no secret information and with minimal security provisions.
100,000 certainly sounds like a major problem. Suggest you check you facts first, next time and scale your numbers appropriately.
