White House spokesman Ari Fleischer calls the article "a disappointing departure from the media's traditional role of respecting the privacy of the president's family," but editor Brian Duffy tells Howard Kurtz the magazine performed "the usual balancing act between privacy concerns and whether the measures being taken are adequate to ensure (the twins') safety."
