Just saw this mentioned on Slashdot. High Performance SSH/SCP - HPN-SSH http://www.psc.edu/networking/projects/hpn-ssh/ The internal flow control buffers in openssh are small and static. The guys at Pittsburgh SC have created a patch that can be applied to openssh that dynamically increases the buffers which dramatically improves performance. They also multi-threaded the crypto. So if you were wondering about what to do with that extra core, now you have your answer. -- Doug _______________________________________________ Beowulf mailing list, Beowulf@beowulf.org To change your subscription (digest mode or unsubscribe) visit http://www.beowulf.org/mailman/listinfo/beowulf ----- End forwarded message ----- -- Eugen* Leitl leitl http://leitl.org ______________________________________________________________ ICBM: 48.07100, 11.36820 http://www.ativel.com http://postbiota.org 8B29F6BE: 099D 78BA 2FD3 B014 B08A 7779 75B0 2443 8B29 F6BE
