Advanced technological systems have been designed in countries to improve monitoring, security, and control against a possible terrorist attack. The focus of the proposed special issue is to analyze the political implications of technology adoption for homeland security mechanisms. The aim is to consider all relevant aspects of technology implications such as citizenb s rights and privacy. The special issue explores implications and issues with a view to suggesting appropriate strategies to improve the system design by highlighting the political implications of technology.****
