Couple of things you can do: 2. Install a more secure "fingerd" such that it only allows "finger `userid@node.domain`" instead of "finger `@node.domain`". While I've seen #2 in action, I don't know where to go to snarf it. I just use #1. Anyone know where to 'snarf it'?
cfingerd can be gotten from: ftp.bitgate.com/pub/cfingerd/pub/cfingerd -or- sunsite.unc.edu/pub/Linux/system/Network/finger There are a couple of other fingerd's in the sunsite directory. Cfinger seemed to be the best last time I was looking for a fingerd.
